We have designed these mushroom grow kits to be a convenient, easy way for anyone to grow their own mushrooms at home. All it requires is a lite mist twice a day, a room where the temperature remains between 65° to 75°, and against the myth that they grow in the dark, they DO need light. The one caution is to be sure that it doesn’t get direct sunlight, that will kill the mycelium, and inevitably your mushroom grow block. Chestnut Mushrooms have a similar texture to a Portabella mushroom, with a rich, robust, beef like, and slightly nutty flavor. This mushroom is not just a flavorful addition, it’s a hearty, umami-rich centerpiece that stands proudly at the heart of the dish.
